Ticketing FAQ
Organised by scenario — booking, seating, entry, refunds & changes and invoices in one read.
1. Booking & Tickets
Know this before you order
First time here — which seating zone is best?
If you want both the panorama and stage detail, Standard Zone (Zone A) is toward the centre with a stronger sense of presence — the recommended choice for a first visit. To save budget, choose the Regular Zone (Zone B); for a close-up view and the best angle, choose the VIP Zone or Supreme VIP. You can check in detail when selecting seats in the WeChat Mini Program.
Where do I buy tickets? Can I buy them at the theater?
We recommend booking through the WeChat Mini Program "Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain Tickets" — select seats online, real-name reservation, confirmed right after payment. Availability changes in real time, so buying on site is not guaranteed; we suggest booking online in advance.
Can one order cover the whole family?
Yes. One order can include multiple attendees; each attendee must provide their real name and ID number — real-name booking, one ID per person.
How early should I book in peak season and holidays?
Tickets are tight on holidays and in peak travel season; we suggest booking 3–5 days ahead to secure your preferred seats.
2. Real-name & Entry
Real-name policy, one ID per person
Do I need to exchange for a paper ticket at entry?
No. On show day, simply enter by scanning the original ID you provided at booking at the ticket gate — quick and easy.
Can I enter with a passport, a Hong Kong / Macao / Taiwan travel permit or a Home Return Permit?
Yes. Valid IDs include the ID card, passport, Exit-Entry Permit, etc.; the booking information must match the ID used for entry.
What if I filled in the ID number incorrectly?
Please call the customer service hotline 0744-8230888 as soon as possible, provide your order number and the correct ID information, and our staff will assist with the change. Incorrect real-name information will prevent you from entering by ID, so be sure to double-check before ordering.
What time does the ticket gate open?
The ticket gate usually opens about 40 minutes before the show; we suggest arriving 30–45 minutes early, and a little earlier on holidays.
3. Payment & Ticketing
Relax once you've paid
Which payment methods are supported?
Complete payment through official channels such as WeChat Pay for secure funds.
I've paid but haven't received a confirmation — what should I do?
After successful payment the system automatically sends a confirmation. If you don't receive it, first check your SMS blocking settings; you can also view order details in the Order Center of the WeChat Mini Program "Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain Tickets". If you still can't confirm, please call 0744-8230888.
Payment got stuck — will I be charged twice?
Please do not submit again. Check your network first, then confirm the order status in the Order Center shortly after; if you were charged but no ticket was issued, please call the customer service hotline 0744-8230888.
4. Refunds, Changes & Invoices
Don't worry if plans change
Can I get a refund or reschedule if I buy the wrong ticket?
More than 24 hours before showtime, you may contact customer service to request a refund or change; within 24 hours of showtime, refunds or changes are generally not supported. The exact rules are those shown on the page at the time of purchase — please double-check before ordering.
What if the show is canceled due to weather?
If the show is canceled due to extreme weather such as heavy rain or lightning, a full refund or rescheduling will be arranged; please watch for scenic area notices and contact customer service.
Can I get an invoice?
Yes. Please tell our staff about your invoicing needs when booking or after the show and they will assist. You can also mention any reconciliation needs.
5. The Show & On Site
Stay calm on site
What time does the show start and how long does it last?
It usually starts at about 20:20 each evening and runs about 90 minutes, ending around 22:00. Please refer to the day's arrangements at the scenic area.
Can we still watch if it rains?
Light rain does not stop the show and free rain ponchos are provided on site — no need to bring your own. In extreme weather such as heavy rain or lightning the show may be cancelled at short notice, in which case a full refund or a rescheduled date will be arranged.
Can we take photos on site?
Please set your phone to silent during the show, and flash photography is prohibited to avoid affecting other audience members and the performance.
Does the theater have parking?
Yes, the theater has a parking lot — just search "Tianmen Mountain Grand Canyon Theater" in your navigation app. Parking may be tight on holidays, so we suggest arriving early or taking a taxi.
